• The accounting databases for the DEMO version, including account numbers, are fictitious.
• The databases for the DEMO version are not updated. The databases for the WORKING version are updated each evening.
• The form for the Full Accounting Records for the DEMO version has been modified so that the available user names are displayed in a pull-down menu. In the NMR Facility, the user knows his/her login name, so a space is provided on the form where he/she can type in his/her name.

The accounting starts when a user logs onto a Sun workstation in the NMR Facility. A customized accounting/login system records the time that the user is logged onto the Sun workstation. The standard UNIX accounting system also records this information, and this system is used as a backup. These accounting records are then collected each evening by a Silicon Graphics workstation, converted to several different ascii file formats, and added to the "master" ascii files. The NMR Facility Accounting web page then accesses various fields and records in these master files.

On the first day of each month, the master files are moved to a different location and new master files are created. A monthly summary accounting report is automatically sent to various faculty members via email, which lists the time used and charges associated with each member of their research group.
